a hero’s journey in my childhood TV show

So there’s this TV show that I would watch when I was little and it was called spider riders. the premise for the show was a ten year boy enters a different world where bugs and humans fight for co-existence and humans and spiders work together to stop the bugs. The call to adventure starts when are protagonist “Hunter steel” follows his grandpa’s journal to the “inner world”. When he stumbles into the “inner world” he meets up with a giant spider that wants him gone because he’s an “earthen” and can’t be here. The supernatural aid is when The two are attacked the “Invectids” which are these bug creatures, Hunter steel and “shadow” the spider fight together to defeat them. The first threshold is when a girl named corona also with a spider explains that he was a great “spider rider” warriors that work with spider to protect the inner world. The belly of the whale happens when human sized bugs make him and enemy and also talk. The road of trials is when there is filler episodes where he learns about teamwork and how to become a better spider rider. The meeting with the goddess is when he visits the “garden of flowers” and in battle is injured and has a moment of clarity, and thinks about corona. Temptation shows later in the show hunter and his friends are shown a world where there is no fighting and to throw away his duties and relax, and that someone else will fight for the people, but he rejects the offer and stays strong to his duty. Atonement with the father is when the legendary spider rider hero scolds hunter for acting like a child in battle and to how to do better with his weapon stance. Apostasis isn’t really in this mostly due to no one dies physically or mentally. The ultimate boon is when Hunter and his friends go to fight the Invectids leader and defeat him. there is no magic flight, rescue from without, crossing the returning threshold or master of two worlds at the end. Freedom to live is mostly the end where hunter continues to be a spider rider and help people in need.

PS I now this show is terrible. but at the time is was fascinated

steps to liking yourself when others don’t

It sucks when nobody likes you and your all alone. We’ve all had that one moment when someone didn’t like us and hurt like getting punched in the gut. That feeling of not being good enough for people or no one wants to be around you. It starts to affect how you think and see yourself. But I want to say that you should never feel bad about yourself, no matter what people think of you. I’m here to give some tips on how to see you uniqueness and how to be more in tuned with what you like.

The first step is to forget all the negative things said to you. If you keep going back to what people think about you, then you’ll never be yourself. It will be hard at first, always going back to the negative and trying to be what people will like. But you gotta let them go, trying to be something your not is never good, you’ll be putting on an act for so long, drain all of your energy every single day. It’s not worth it to act and not get paid for it.

The second step is to try and find things that you like to do. Now I know it’s easy for me to ask you to find anything that makes you happy. But it will help you find something that makes you happy with what your doing, because people you enjoy what their doing will people who also like what you both do. Going out and looking for adventure will help you find what makes you happy, and maybe you’ll find others that like what you like.

The last step is to never forget to give yourself some “you time”. This time is to help you remember and redefine what you like about yourself. Never forget what makes you special to like yourself. Even when people don’t like you for what you have is there problem. You should always be happy for who and what you are, and never be outcast-ed for what people don’t like about you. always remember that who you are matters and not what people want you to be.

Governments are monstrously evil or just a trifle evil.

To some people the the government can be seen as some evil monster that holds all the power and wants to control everyone. And for others it’s a mild inconvenience when they get the mail and see the tax returns. I don’t believe that governments are monstrously evil. They aren’t trying to control our every move or make us fight each other for power. They just regulate everyone to be a good citizen. It may get annoying when the government gives you a bill that they messed up on the deliver and it’s past due. but they aren’t making you pay for outlandish things, for example giving bills for not having your yard at a certain color. I feel like people that think the government is super duper evil, are people that have trust issues and sees everyone as an enemy. Also for people that think the government is like the boogie man that’s going to eat them, they always seem to be making conspiracy theories like as to why the government would try to cover up some magical event. Again it seems to come down to trust issues. In my opinion governments are just a group of people that are just like us, just trying to do their best. thank you for listening and taking the time to read this post. Have a great day ^-^

What makes a person who they are?

So today our conversation is about what makes a person who they are. To describe how they became that type of person is somewhat difficult. there are multiple variables as to what affects us into who we are and what will shape us into our future self’s. A big major component is the brain. Every single person’s brain is uniquely different in our pathways and how we understand things. For example let’s say that two kids face the same challenge like a quiz, and they both fail. One might take it as a learning moment and be determent to try harder and do better next time. While the other might see it as being a failure and lose motivation to keep trying if they aren’t that good on the subject.

The other type of variable is where they grew up like living in a rural area or the city, hot and sunny weather or cold and damp weather. This type of environment variable can also affect what makes us. If they live in a rural area you have a quiet space all around you and can study a lot easier in silence. And if you live in a city then you’re use to the noise and have being able to study with something else going on in the background. And if you live in a place that’s usually hot then your fine with wearing a jacket in 83 degree weather because it’s not hot enough. Or if you live in a place that is really cold then you might be fine with wearing shorts in 35 degree weather because for you it’s not that cold.

So getting into another variable is about your parents. Now this one can go very very deep in what kind of person you will be. But i’ll try to name off a few. Lets say that one of your parents is a drinker and does terrible stuff to you. There are then one of two things that will happen. You will see how terrible they treated and you and make sure to never do what they did to you when you if/do have kids. Or repeat the cycle of what they did to you onto your kids if/do have kids. Another example is if you’ve gone through at home due to your parents that you can either. Try to make people happy and be nice to people because you know what it feels like to be sad and feel terrible. Or be rude to everyone you meet and be a bully to someone else because you want to take out your sadness and anger on someone else. It always comes down to what you think on the situation your in. Will you continue the cycle, or stop it from starting again and making a difference.

To me what makes someone who they are and what kind of person they will become to be is by what they have gone through in life and how they interpret it. They are the one that make their choices by what they have gone through because of these variables. If someone is rude and disrespectful in class it might have something to due with some these variables and how they interpret it to themselves. Everyone does have a choice, it’s just how you view the problem to yourself and how it affects you in live.

Are Villains Monsters and vice versa or two different types of things.

we’ve all read a book, or seen a movie that shows us our main villain or our big scary monster. Some say they are one and the same. But what I say to that way of thinking is, what makes a villain a villain and what makes a monster a monster. And that is why we are here today. I will be giving my opinion on what makes what. And why it goes with my thinking. (side note. This is just my opinion and not fact. everyone has different opinions).

Let us start with what makes a villain a villain. What I perceive as a villain is someone who does bad things for a reason. Like for example destroy a town for fun, stealing something for your own gain, or leaving legos out on the floor on purpose for you to step on. All of these would be categorized as villainous traits. They do things to hurt people on purpose they have no remorse for what they do. They can look like a big scary looking monster or they can look like an average person on the street. But it’s mostly average people because you won’t expect that.

Now time for what makes a monster a monster. They are usually seen as huge and have sharp claws and pointy teeth. From this description it sounds like something you would have from a nightmare. But the thing is they don’t really try to hurt anyone. Yeah there might be the occasional village destroyed and everyone eaten scenario. But that shouldn’t define them all. Why we see them as monsters is because we fear them and think they want to kill/eat. When really they just want to be like everyone else, or just be left alone. what they do is just live their life by surviving. They don’t go out looking for trouble they just want to live in peace.

So after explain my thoughts on what makes a villain a villain and a monster a monster. We can see that not all villains look like a monster, and that not all monster have intentions of being a villain. They both have different characteristics to what they are and what their intentions are. Some villains will look like the most innocent person that you’ve seen and some monster will have a heart of gold and just want to make some friends. I hope this has been of some help and I wish you all a happy day ^-^

Gilgamesh’s story is a great showing of how we all learn to better ourselves and others. But the people of Uruk don’t like their king because of his terrible ego. he sleeps with all the women and he abuses his power. the people pray to the gods to help with this problem to which the creation god Aruru make a wild man named Enkidu. But Gilgamesh has fallen asleep when he has finished. after his defeat. he heads home till live a good life as a good king.

what myth means to me

What myth meant to me before this class were the stories only the Greeks had. But now after taking this mythology class I’ve learned that myth doesn’t only belong to the Greeks, it belongs to the entire cosmos. Myth is something we all share, rewrite and create for everyone.

what myth means to me. That every story was inspired by another and so on and so on. myth is what helped us create our favorite creatures like werewolves and vampires. Myth is what helped create some famous movies like star wars. Myth is what made us want to tell stories for our and others entertainment.

myth is what got me interested in the Percy Jackson series. and then there is the roman mysteries series that I loved. And my absolute favorite series is the sister’s Grimm filled with all the fairy tale characters in one small town. all books come with a little myth with them, And that’s why we love reading. Having an entire myth right in the palm of your hands for you to jump right into.

Myth to me is what gives me the passion for reading books and hearing so many of other peoples stories about anything.

devils and demons

So I know that we all have those times where we have that instinct to do something that we want to do, but it’s the wrong thing to do. That’s right, were talking about those inner demons that we tell no to from time to time. But today we’re going a little more in depth with this topic. today we’ll be talking about the devils and demons that have been on this earth since the beginning.

So as you can tell, devils and demons are more seen as the opposite of the gods and angels. FYI you can’t really befriend a demon or a devil like in supernatural. It’s not going to turn out so nice, they’ll mostly be out to take your soul. But back to the topic on hand, a devil is more of a leader of evil spirit’s and want to oppose the gods. Demons on the other hand or mischievous and like to cause trouble for people, they can also be messengers for the devil.

Back then demons weren’t considered evil spirits. In ancient Greek a person’s daimon was considered a person’s guide like their soul or a guardian angel. In other cultures they were considered inhuman supernatural powers that could be used for good or evil. wizards sorceresses and witches were able to summon there demon through magikal practices.

An interesting fact about some cultures and their religions that replace other religions. when one replaces the other the gods in the former religion might become demons in the new religion. Like for example when Islam spread into west Africa, central Asia and Indonesia, their deities had been adapted and transformed into new demons in the new religion.

Well that is it for today everyone. I hope that this has been intriguing and a good learning experience. Just remember to not do bad or evil deeds. Bye ^_^

werewolf and how they were back then.

So today we have ourselves a Hairy situation. sorry I couldn’t help myself. but seriously we’re going to be talking about werewolves. How they came to be in Greek mythology. How people thought other people were able to transform from human to wolf and vice versa, along with how some people have thought to have been werewolf’s. How the idea of werewolf’s in Greece came to be was the legend of Lycraon. He was the son of pelasgus who offered the god Zeus meat of a child he sacrificed at Zeus’s alter. Zeus angry at this act turn Lycraon and his son’s into wolves.

There is another story in Nordic folklore where a father and son find wolf pelts that can transform then into wolves for 10 days. Putting on the pelts they went on a killing spree until the father had severely wounded his son. Very close to dying, he was saved when a nice and gentle raven gave the father a leaf with healing properties to save his son

In the 1500’s there were people who said that they could transform into a werewolf. And these said people are Pierre burgot, and Michel Verdun they had killed numerous children that they were punished to be burned at the stake. It was thought back then that the only way to kill werewolves was to burn them.

But the most notorious werewolf of them all was Peter stubble. Was a farmer in Bedburg, Germany in the folklore it’s said he would transform at night and eat the people of the town. It was later that he was cornered by hunters at night that one said he saw the farmer transform they tortured him into confessing he ate animals, men, women and children. He also told them he had a sash that would let him transform but it was never recovered.

So that is the end of today’s blog. I hope this has given you something that will make you happy. have a wonderful day everyone ^_^

Dragon-like creature’s in Mythology

So it’s true that the Dragon’s aren’t like the we know about today. The dragons in these stories are more serpentine like, but are still considered dragon-like. It actually surprised me that so many countries had their own dragon-like myth, i’ll only be writing about a few of my favorites, but I hope that this peeks your interest to look for more of these dragon-like myths in other countries.

The first myth we will be looking into takes us to the Philippines. the Dragon-like creature is called the Bakunawa, it was know to be the cause of eclipses. the Philippines believed that Bathala had created 7 moons to help create light during the night sky. Bakunawa fascinated by the moons beauty he swallowed all seven of the moons, making Bakunawa and Bathala enemies. Bathala told the people that one way get rid of the Bakunawa and get the moons back was to bang their pot and pans together making the Bakunawa spit them out and flee.

This myth takes us all the way to Greece. this creature is the son of Typhon, and he was honored to be given dragon in his name. He guarded the golden fleece, and he had the inability to sleep. In the story he was given a sleeping aid so the golden fleece could be taken.

Now with the next one will be heading to Germany. these serpent-like creatures are named Lindworms. they were seen as a bad omen. they would dig around churches for corpses. If any livestock were to go missing they were to blame. They would have underground caves to guard their treasure and were notorious for being greedy. And in some German myth stories Lindworms were once human transformed by their greed.

For our final myth we go all the way to china. The Chinese dragons were seen as the divine protectors of the world being able to go anywhere in the world and protect innocent from evil. The Chinese dragons also had the essence of life bringing water from rain, warmth from the sunlight, wind from the seas and soil from the mountains. Out of all of the dragons the Chinese dragon is the only one that helps the people of earth with bring good fortune.

Well that is all I’ve got for you today everyone. I hope this peeks your interest to find more Dragon-like myths from so many other countries. This is clear the air hoping this has satisfied you. Links to the websites will be at the bottom of the article. See you next time ^-^
